One year ago, in December, the Johns Hopkins Viral Hepatitis Center office opened an office in Cumberland to provide hepatitis C treatment and care! We are located on the first floor of the Allegany County Health Department.

I wonder when or if a Hepatitis C test will become more routinely offered (to those born between 1945-1965). If clinicians begin to recommend it (as the CDC suggests they should) then more people will learn their status. Really amazing to be able to cure it. Thanks for your post.

Thanks for posting this. We all think about the larger contributions of overdose and suicide to our reduced life expectancy in the USA, but chronic liver disease is another important factor.
