Allegany County Health Department’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP)

Allegany County is the Western Region HUB for Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention (BCCP) services since April 2019.

We are officially accepting clients from Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties. We are contracted with healthcare providers, hospitals, and radiology facilities in all three counties, so that women can continue to see their own healthcare providers.

We will assess client eligibility over the phone so that women from Garrett and Washington will never have to travel to Allegany County to complete the necessary forms for the program. We case manage the client and pay for their breast and cervical cancer screenings if they meet the program requirements.

In July 2019, we will be expanding our program to also provide cervical cancer screening services (Pap tests and /or HPV testing) to women age 21 and older in all three counties.

In order to qualify for our program, a woman must meet the following requirements:

* Must live in Allegany, Garrett, or Washington County
* Must be uninsured or have health insurance which does not fully cover breast and cervical cancer screenings
* Must meet income guidelines
* For breast screening services (mammogram) must be a woman age 40 or older
* For cervical screening services (Pap test and/or HPV testing) must be a woman aged 21 or older
