Worksite Wellness 7 years, 3 months agoThis past summer and fall the ACHD Wellness Committee encouraged a different employee each week to bring in fruits and herbs to infuse a large container of water each Wednesday. This was a huge success and the Wellness group has decided to keep Wellness Water Wednesday going. This is an easy idea you can introduce in your worksites.

Worksite Wellness 7 years, 3 months agoAllegany County Health Department has a new (or revived) Worksite Wellness Committee. It is exciting to attend the meetings and see the ideas generated to improve the well-being of the ACHD employees. Thanks to Alison Robinson who has agreed to chair the group .

School Health Nursing 7 years, 3 months agoI am so impressed to see the work of the school nurses! Amazing to look at the data visualization tool, and overlay these measures: # medical visits per month versus # students returning to class after the medical visit. And kudos to elementary nurses, who appear to have highest volumes of these types of visits .

STD’s and STI’s: What’s going on down there? 7 years, 3 months agoI noticed in your uploaded files that we are seeing increases in cases of chlamydia and gonorrhea in Allegany County. Have you noticed any increase in the number of people seeking to be tested? In your experience, what % of people seeking to be tested are having symptoms of disease, and what % is not having any symptoms at all, but are just concerned?
