Patients and clinicians should know to send stool culture on anyone with bloody diarrhea (a sign of possible E coli infection), and not to reflexively treat with antibiotics, because it can increase the risk of having kidney damage.

Great to see this data, thanks for posting it.
I look forward to watching year round trends for Lyme disease, transmission still possible, but much reduced levels of exposure in the winter.

I have seen some life expectancy data by census tract, some of which is surprising. I’d love to map the fast food restaurants by census tract and see if there is any correlation with life expectancy! Anyone else interested?

Ask your provider for a flu shot. Many of the pharmacies in Allegany County provide the flu vaccine as well.

Lyme Disease is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, a bacterium and transmitted by the bite of an infected black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis) or deer tick, which must be attached to the skin for at least 24 hours for transmission to occur.
Not every tick bite causes Lyme disease.

We have about 425 food facilities that are under license. Some are inspected 3 times per year, some 2 times per year, and low priority facilities are inspected every other year.
