Maryland Health Connection has opened a special enrollment period available to all Marylanders in need of health insurance. This effort is part of Maryland’s overall response to the coronavirus.
The AHEC West Health Insurance Program wants Marylanders to know that they can enroll now through Wednesday, April 15. Coverage selected during this time will begin April 1, 2020 regardless of when a consumer enrolls.
People who did not enroll in their work insurance plans and now can’t get it, are eligible under this special enrollment period to receive financial help to lower their premium cost. People whose spouse has work insurance but they do not because of the cost can now also enroll with help to lower the premium.
Many people are now experiencing changes to their income that will allow them to get insurance or change their insurance. If income changes are affecting your health insurance, please call us.
You do not need to leave your home, you can enroll by phone. To reach a local navigator please call 888-202-0212. If you do not have health insurance, please give us a call!
You can also visit http://www.MarylandHealthConnection.gov or download the free “Enroll MHC” mobile app. When enrolling, Marylanders should request or select “Coronavirus Emergency Special Enrollment Period.”
