School Health Nursing 7 years, 7 months agoI am so impressed to see the work of the school nurses! Amazing to look at the data visualization tool, and overlay these measures: # medical visits per month versus # students returning to class after the medical visit. And kudos to elementary nurses, who appear to have highest volumes of these types of visits .

If your international travel takes you to the developing world outside the US, and if you’re planning to interact with animals, you really should consider getting the rabies vaccine beforehand. Otherwise, be sure to get a travel insurance policy that covers evacuation and medical treatments. These policies will allow you the opportunity to…[Read more]

Has anyone been diagnosed with lymes disease or rocky mountain spotted fever? It would help this group to know what symptoms you experienced. With climate change, we are seeing more cases of certain diseases that we didn’t see before, the insects are able to survive and transmit.
Lyme disease is a great example of this. Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is also tick-borne but in contrast to Lyme that sometimes has a chronic presentation, RMSF is an acute illness with obvious symptoms, high…[Read more]

Hi everyone, This is a great group to start. As we head into the winter months the reports of rabies usually decreases since animals are less active. Allegany County has had a very great year with no reported positive rabies encounters! However, please remember that indoor animals do have the chance to be exposed to rabies through bats getting to…[Read more]
