What creative ideas are you implementing in your work sites during the holidays?
The Allegany County Health Department is looking to distribute healthy holiday recipes. In January, we plan to resume the Wednesday Wellness Water day and today we have an in-service on Mindful Meditation.

Today’s “Mindfulness Meditation” seminar was very helpful! I enjoyed it very much. Clearing your mind and being in the “now” for a few minutes definitely helped to recenter the day and focus on the task or tasks at hand.

CDC has stated in its Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report, FluView, that as of the week ending November 17, the geographic spread of influenza in one state was reported as regional; Guam and 14 states reported local activity; and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and 35 states reported sporadic activity. Patients and clinicians should know to send stool culture on anyone with bloody diarrhea (a sign of possible E coli infection), and not to reflexively treat with antibiotics, because it can increase the risk of having kidney damage.

Great to see this data, thanks for posting it.
I look forward to watching year round trends for Lyme disease, transmission still possible, but much reduced levels of exposure in the winter.
