STD’s and STI’s: What’s going on down there? 6 years, 1 month agoI was thinking it might be good to clarify the distinction between an STD (D for disease) and and STI (I for infection).
A disease is associated with signs or symptoms (in the case of sexually transmitted diseases this can include a discharge, pain with urination, pelvic and abdominal pain, sores, etc).

STD’s and STI’s: What’s going on down there? 6 years, 2 months agoChrissy posted about the fact that 50% of STI’s occur in the 15-24 year old age group (even though they make up only 25% of the sexually active population). I have uploaded a document from the CDC that offers guidance to parents on how to talk to their teens about sex, since teens are included in this high incidence population.
