Did you know:
Physical activity such as walking can help improve health even without weight loss. People who are physically active live longer and have a lower risk for heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, depression, and some cancers. Improving spaces and having safe places to walk can help more people become physically active.

I agree, and physical activity can help reduce the level of pain in some common conditions.
Another unexpected benefit to physical activity such as walking which I have found especially useful as an artist is that it gets me “out of my head space” for a while. The change of scenery and activity renews not only physical energy, but also helps me to think about a problem or project from a new point of view. It stimulates creative thinking and can help me to overcome “tunnel vision” that may have had me in a rut on something I’ve been working on. Inspirational speaker Tony Robinson refers to this as “changing your state.” If your thoughts are stagnating or you want to change your mood, get up and physically “change your state” of mind, body, whatever.
